RUMOR: Doug Duncan Weighing Campaign for Maryland Comptroller in 2014

Over the past few weeks, two Maryland Juice sources have provided credible hints that former Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan is currently considering a run for Comptroller in 2014. He may yet decide against joining the increasingly crowded field of competitors, but at least for now, he appears to be thinking about it.

When the new 6th Congressional District boundaries were announced, some speculated that Duncan would consider entering the race. But he ultimately decided against a run for federal office. Notably, at the start of 2011, Mr. Duncan had roughly $300,000 in his Maryland campaign account leftover from his aborted bid for Governor. Most of that money cannot be used in a race for Congress, but it can be used in a race for ... Comptroller.

Sorry, that's all the detail I can provide right now!
