Sierra Club Endorses Rob Garagiola for Congress
Citing his proven track record of creating green jobs and protecting our environment, the Sierra Club, the nation’s oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization, endorsed Rob Garagiola for Congress in Maryland’s new Sixth Congressional District today.
“In the Maryland State Senate, Rob Garagiola has been a champion for creating green jobs and building a renewable energy industry in our state. He’s been a strong defender of our environment and protecting our natural resources,” said David O’Leary, Chair of the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club. “Rob Garagiola is the only candidate in both the primary and the general election who has a proven track record of protecting our environment. When we send Rob to Congress, we know he’ll continue to fight for green jobs and clean energy,” concluded O’Leary.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Sierra Club. Their endorsement is validation of the work I’ve done to create green jobs and protect our environment. Other candidates can say what they’ll do, but I’m the only candidate in this race who’s rolled up his sleeves and gotten the job done. In Congress, I’ll continue to get results so that we can create green jobs and defend our natural resources,” stated Garagiola.
Rob Garagiola has been a consistent and reliable champion for our environment and clean and renewable energy in Maryland. Throughout his tenure in the State Senate, Rob has been focused on finding long-term solutions to meet our future energy needs in an environmentally sound and cost-effective manner.
