VIDEO: CD1 Democrats Debate // John LaFerla, Kim Letke & Wendy Rosen Vie for Chance to Replace Rep. Andy Harris

Last week, Talbot County Democrats hosted a Democratic candidates forum for Maryland's 1st Congressional District Primary. Candidates John LaFerla, Kim Letke and Wendy Rosen are competing for the privilege of taking on Tea Party Rep. Andy Harris this November. The Easton Star Democrat provided coverage of the debate, along with video footage of the candidates (see below):
"We can win this election," said Carl Widell, chairman of Talbot's Democratic Forum, who introduced the candidates and served as moderator.

Harris, who ousted (Republican) Wayne Gilchrest in the 2008 primary and narrowly defeated (Democrat) Frank Kratovil in 2010, is unpopular, Widell said.

"It's just a question of turnout," he said of the November election....

Maryland Juice has no doubt that this will be a tough race for the eventual Democratic nominee, but nothing is impossible in politics. An out-of-touch incumbent like Rep. Andy Harris will always leave open the door for an unforced error that leads to implosion -- but we shall see how the turnout dynamics play out this November.
