Delegate Galen Clagett to Run for Frederick Mayor This November // Campaign Kickoff Wednesday, February 27

Maryland Juice just received an invitation to Delegate Galen Clagett's campaign kickoff for Frederick Mayor. The long-serving District 3A Democrat is not running for re-election in 2014 and will instead run in this September's Democratic Primary for Mayor. The general election is Tuesday, November 5th. Details on the February 27th kickoff event below:



The Frederick News-Post reported on Clagett's mayoral bid yesterday, and their report highlighted the other candidates in the race (excerpt below):
FREDERICK NEWS-POST: Delegate Galen Clagett has confirmed that he plans to run for mayor of Frederick.... "I've given it some serious thought for some time now," Clagett said. "I have what I consider to be a vision for the city. ... I've lived here most of my life and I want to see it be successful...."

Alderwoman Karen Young, a Democrat, has already announced her plans to run for mayor. Mayor Randy McClement, a Republican, has not said whether he will seek re-election....
