John Delaney Campaign Gathers Steam with Eleven New Endorsements
Delegate Luiz Simmons and other prominent community leaders
throughout the Sixth District back Democrat Delaney
Gaithersburg, Md. - Momentum builds for the John Delaney for Congress campaign with the announcement of the support of eleven new prominent community leaders today.
“I’m honored to receive such widespread, community backing,” Delaney said. “Our message is resonating throughout the district and the campaign momentum is growing each day. Voters are looking for new leadership on job creation and expanding the middle class.”
New Endorsements:
- Del. Luiz Simmons — State Delegate, District 17
- Saqib Ali – Former State Delegate, District 39
- Michael Novelli — Maryland for Obama 2008 Director, Maryland Steering Committee Coordinator for Kerry 2004, Montgomery County Co-Chair for Clinton 1992 and 1996
- Kai Hagen — Former Frederick County Commissioner and Executive Director of Envision Frederick County
- Walt Stull — City Council member, Brunswick, Md.
- Karin Tome —City Council member, Brunswick, Md.
- Tina Clarke — Former special assistant to Former Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan
- John Daniels – 23 year Navy veteran, former Frederick Alderman candidate
- Guled Kassim — Former U.S. Marine and Democratic activist in Montgomery County
- Dr. Robyn Mathias —Teacher and Principal, retired after 32 years, Montgomery County Public School System

Delaney has previously been endorsed by President William Jefferson Clinton, former Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan, and the Washington Post.
